NAIL WHEEL!

I haven't really ever done nail wheels in the past - mostly because I've always just figured that if I think of a new design I'd rather paint a full set, so that I can actually wear them! But I do think they look nice, so here's my first attempt..

shamROCK OUT!

Get your pinching fingers ready, it's that time of year again–St. Patrick's Day! Time to put your drinkin' shoes on, and don your best green attire, because it's time to do it up right! I'm not Irish, but with the pale skin, red hair, and freckles, I definitely look the part. Here's hoping that this St. Paddy's Day, my 'Irish' looks bring me a few extra tips at work tonight! :D

I totally HAD to use my Zoya Gilty for this manicure, I mean, how much more appropriate can you get than St. Patrick's Day? :D  Michigan winters and being a server have not been kind to my nails/cuticles, my nails break every 2 minutes it seems like (hence the super nubs), and I'm pretty sure I could wear gloves made of Lemony Flutter and my cuticles would still be unhappy.

Anyway, Happy St. Paddy's Day! :)

ZOYA Pixie Dust Review

WOO! Today I am sharing with you my review and swatches for the new ZOYA Pixie Dust Collection! I am totally in love with this collection, and the textured finish trend in general. I love the feel, the way it looks, and especially the wear. I got really great wear with these! (which is saying a lot, since my hands are wet a lot of my work day)

Hit the jump for the swatches and reviews!

A closeup of 3 coats:

A closeup of just 1 coat:

Ruby red sparkle

This vivid, ruby sparkle polish evokes memories of Dorothy's ruby slippers, and man is it a stunner. When it's wet (or with a HEAVY DUTY topcoat), it looks like liquid rubies; when it's dry, it loses some of the sheen, but not to its detriment, it actually adds great depth to the color!

Opacity scale (1-5): 4

Finish: Pixie Dust (textured matte), 2-3 coats to be opaque

Black and silver sparkle

This one is sure to make you want to hit the road (in a GREAT way!), it glistens like fresh asphalt or roofing shingles. This was definitely one of my favorites!

Opacity scale (1-5): 3

Finish: Pixie Dust (textured matte), 3 coats to be opaque

Foggy grey and silver sparkle

Super chic and simple, who doesn't love a great grey polish? Add ZOYA's awesome PixieDust finish, and it's a definite winner.

Opacity scale (1-5): 2.75

Finish: Pixie Dust (textured matte), 3 coats to be opaque

Zoya Nyx

Periwinkle sparkle

I love that this one can be a perfect transition from Winter to Spring. Perfect for Winter with its icy sparkle, and exactly what spring is begging for with the periwinkle!

Opacity scale (1-5): 2

Finish: Pixie Dust (textured matte), 3 coats to be opaque

Pistachio sparkle

This one makes me think of vintage stand mixers and mint or pistachio gelato. While I really love this color, it's one that gives me lobster hands. :( Damn this skintone!

Opacity scale (1-5): 2

Finish: Pixie Dust (textured matte), 3 coats to be opaque

Nude and silver sparkle

This is my #1 favorite polish in this collection. Despite my love for crazy nail art, I will NEVER, EVER, EVER turn down a great nude, which is precisely what this is! It's pretty and different enough to be edgy, but 100% office-friendly. It looks like actual sand when it dries, or little champagne bubbles dancing across my fingertips.

Opacity scale (1-5): 2

Finish: Pixie Dust (textured matte), 3 coats to be opaque
